How to help Your Children Wash Their Hands

There are children who just don’t want to do it, wash your hands for kids or haven’t learnt how to wash their hands right:. This page provides some excellent resources to motivate children to learn and use proper hand hygiene.

One of the best ways to remove germs is by Handwashing.
This avoids getting sick and stops others from also getting sick.

When should we wash your hands?
You should Wash your hands often, and certainly:
- Before, during, and after preparing food
- Before eating food
- Before and after being with someone at home who is sick with vomiting or diarrhea
- Before and after treating a cut or wound
- Definitely After using the toilet
- Definitely After changing diapers or cleaning up a child who has used the toilet
- Definitely After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
- Definitely After touching an animal, animal feed or animal waste
- After handling pet food or pet treats
- Definitely After touching garbage
- Definitely After touching the floor
How to wash your hands- Wash Wash- Scrub Scrub Swirl Swirl Dry
Now this is where it gets fun! The following five steps are hands down the best way to wash your hands:
- Wet your hands with clean, running water (warm or cold) and apply soap.
- Rub you hand together with the soap. Lather the backs of your hands, between your fingers, and under your nails.
- Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds. Need a timer? Hum your favorite song!
- Rinse your hands well under clean, running water.
- Dry your hands using a clean towel or air dry them.
